Artichoke Study

The natural world offers a wealth of inspiration. Take the artichoke, for instance. Its design is almost architectural, its scale statuesque, and its colouring exquisite.

For this piece, I chose an 8-inch square Bristol paper, 250gsm, and used Polychromos pencils as my medium.
